The Bible tells us that God has a wonderful plan for all of us: "God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life," John 3.16.
But our sin prevents us from receiving this great gift: "All of us have sinned and come short of the glory of God," Romans 3.23.
Even worse, the Bible says that our sin separates us from God forever in spiritual death and punishment: "The wages of sin is death," Romans 6.23a.
Nothing we do--going to church, giving money to the church, doing good deeds--is able to change our eternal destination because of our sin. Yet God did something to save us: "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us," Romans 5.8; "Christ has suffered once for our sin, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God," 1 Peter 3.18.
The Bible says that you can have this eternal life with Him if you will:
Be sorry for your sin against God and repent, or turn away from it: "Repent and turn to God," Acts 26.20.
Ask God to forgive you for your sin: "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved," Romans 10.13.
Make Jesus Christ the Master of your life and publicly declare your faith: "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved," Romans 10.9.
